Description from the seller
For sale: 2 Magnum-format bottles (1.5 liters) of Barolo Capalot DOCG 2016 from the historic Crissante Alessandria winery.
The bottles were purchased directly at the market release and have since been stored in a professional cellar at constant controlled temperature and humidity. Levels, labels and capsules are in exceptional/collectible condition.
The Producer: Crissante Alessandria
Situated in the heart of the famous Santa Maria di La Morra district, Crissante Alessandria is one of the most authentic and respected artisanal realities in the Langhe. Founded in 1958, the estate is renowned for its rigorously family-run production and a production philosophy that blends deep respect for Langhe tradition with impeccable enological cleanliness.
The producer’s strengths:
- Micro-production and Artisanship: Small runs with meticulous attention to detail, far from industrial logics.
- Expression of La Morra Terroir: Crissante wines are celebrated for incredible elegance, intoxicating aroma, and tannins of rare finesse.
- Traditional Philosophy: Thoughtful macerations and aging in wooden casks that enhance longevity without overpowering the fruit.
The Vineyard "Capalot" and the 2016 Vintage
Geographic Mention Capalot: A historic and prestigious cru located in La Morra, characterized by excellent exposure and calcareous-clayey soils that grant Nebbiolo marked aromatic complexity, structure, and aging potential.
The 2016 Vintage – A Golden Era: 2016 is unanimously recognized by international critics (Robert Parker, Vinous, Wine Spectator) as one of the best and most balanced vintages in Barolo in the last 20-30 years. A legendary collectible vintage for balance, acidity, tannin, and ten-year aging potential.
Why buy this lot?
Magnum format (1.5L): The perfect format for long aging, ensuring a slower, more harmonious and noble evolution of the wine.
Ready to drink or to be kept: Perfect to be uncorked on special occasions or left to mature for years in the cellar.
