Description from the seller
Gianmaria Giannetti — Biography
Gianmaria Giannetti (Milan, 1974), holding a degree in Aesthetic Philosophy, is a contemporary artist whose research spans painting, poetry, installation, and performance, with an ironic, visionary, and surreal language.
Active for over twenty-five years, he has exhibited in Italy and abroad, participating in the 54th Venice Biennale, Italy/Puglia Pavilion (2011). In the same year he received the Palme d'Or of the City of Cannes for contemporary art.
His path is documented by a monograph published by Silvana Editoriale. In 2025 the Complesso Museale di Santa Caterina in Finalborgo hosted his retrospective Tutti i miei errori (1998–2025).
His works are in private Italian and international collections.
Original work by Gianmaria Giannetti (2014), realized with enamel, glue and textile inserts on an old photograph found at a flea market.
The eyes are composed of fabric samples from the family boutiques, while the handmade frame incorporates fragments of grandmother’s furniture.
An artwork that combines photography, painting and autobiographical memory.
Dimensions: 44 × 58 cm.
