Shibui (渋い) is a Japanese word for beauty that doesn’t announce itself — quiet, understated, and deeper the longer you live with it. That is how we choose every piece we sell. We are a licensed second-hand dealer based in Kanagawa, just south of Tokyo. Our bags come from Japan’s professional wholesale auctions — closed markets open only to licensed dealers, where Japan’s own vintage boutiques buy their stock. Japan is one of the best places in the world to look for pre-owned designer bags, and the reason is cultural. People here tend to treat their belongings with real care: bags are kept in their original dust bags, boxes are saved, and on a rainy day the good bag simply stays home. A bag carried in Japan for twenty years often arrives in better shape than one half its age from elsewhere. We focus on classic houses — Gucci, Celine, Dior, Prada, Loewe, Bottega Veneta, Burberry — and on pieces that still make sense today: good structure, honest wear, a shape that hasn’t dated. We are less interested in rarity for its own sake than in bags someone will genuinely carry. Every item passes through our own hands before it is listed. We photograph the flaws as well as the good sides and describe condition exactly as we find it. If something is worn, we say where, and how much.
