Fulgurites are glassy structures caused by the impact of a lightning bolt into sand. This impressive specimen features a tubular shape with an internal channel that allows light to pass, as well as a wide opening that lets you appreciate the interior glazing. It has a grayish tone, with sand inclusions on the exterior. The lightning strike hit an undetermined area of the Sahara Desert in Mauritania; I acquired it in spring 2023. I am sending it with a gift jar containing Sahara sand and a certificate of authenticity IMCA 5955.
