Description from the seller

Aeropittura futurista - 1920s
Rare double-sided original advertising manifesto from 1927, signed by Negrin in the original first edition of the period, printed by lithography.

One side features the advertisement for Officine Aeronautica d'Italia of Turin and depicts airplanes in flight over the Alps, with the Mole Antonelliana in the background. The geometric construction, colors, diagonals, dynamism, and the theme of machine and flight strongly recall the artistic climate of Italian Futurism and the later Aeropittura explorations. Lettering in the typographic style typical of the Art Deco and Futurist period. Signed Negrin 1927.

On the other side is the image created for the Salvator company in Rome.

Measurements: 35 x 27 cm on thick ivory-colored paper. Original period.

Excellent condition with light abrasions on one long edge as shown in the photo, which recede nicely when framed.

A manifesto of notable interest for collectors of Italian historical aviation and 20th-century graphic advertising, Futurism and Art Deco.

Gino Caregaro Negrin (Vicenza 1902 – Chiavari 1993) gave the first public proofs of his artistic talent from the second half of the 1920s. After a period in Milan, where he had moved in 1926, he began to travel, living for forty years between Madrid, Paris, Buenos Aires, and New York. At the end of the 1960s he settled in Chiavari. Among the major exhibitions he participated in are remembered the Brera Biennale (1932) and the Venice Biennale (1942). An author of portraits and interiors with figures, and also a designer of fabrics, ceramics, and posters. He worked in advertising, both through the creation of posters (which, between the wars, experienced a true epic) and in publishing.
