Two antique Dutch wall-mounted letter and newspaper holders, made of wood with brass accents, dating from circa 1920–1930 in the Amsterdam School Art Deco style.
Description from the seller
Two antique Dutch wall-mounted holders for letters and newspapers, made from a combination of oak wood and probably rosewood (yellow brass accents), circa 1920–1930 with clear influences from the Amsterdam School.
Two beautiful antique wooden wall newspaper racks from the period of the Amsterdam School (Dutch Art Deco, circa 1910–1930).
On the left in the photo you see a classical oak model with two compartments, decorated with characteristic wooden beads and copper/brass nameplates for "Couranten" (newspapers) and "Dagbladen".
On the right is a comparable wooden wall rack, with the focus on the fold-out triangular support or hanging construction, clearly visible. This kind of atmospheric furniture was used in many Dutch hallways or vestibules in the early 20th century to neatly sort mail and newspapers.
Dimensions: listed with the photos.
Condition: in good condition with minimal signs of use.
Photos are part of the description.
They were taken under artificial light, the color may vary. Mood images are shown.
They are well packaged and sent by registered mail.
