Gallus, 2026, mixed media on panel, 80 × 80 × 4 cm, hand-signed and unique edition by Jesús Fernández Escobar (Spain), a contemporary animal-themed artwork.
Description from the seller
THE WORK
GALLUS (2026). Mixed media on board. 80x80x4 cm.
Gallus presents the figure of a rooster as a study of presence, structure, and matter. The anatomy is built from fragmented brushstrokes and masses of color that progressively make the animal emerge from a dark and deeply material background.
Over this representation, geometric lines, tracings, and chromatic reference points are superimposed, introducing an analytical dimension that recalls projection systems and technical representation. The contrast between the precision of some features and the gestural freedom of the rest of the surface creates a constant tension between the recognizable and the abstract.
Thus the rooster appears not only as a motif but as a pictorial structure, subjected to a process of decomposition and reconstruction in which anatomy, geometry, and matter form a single language.
- Work signed by the artist on the back and in the painting.
