Description from the seller
The Imprints of Time
"Shapes, marks and colors that meet and overlap like traces left by time on surfaces that have lived. Red dialogues with blacks and with earthy tones, while the lighter areas reveal layers of memory, of passages and of transformations. A balance between matter and silence, between what has been and what remains, in an essential and contemporary language."

PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal artistic path for over twenty-five years and it continues to evolve. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has been exhibiting his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
The artistic path of Paolo Contin is also documented by his presence in the 'Arte Mondadori' catalog with related quotazioni. Over the years his works have also been published in the Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major Art Fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture.
He was also among the founding members of 'Tostart', an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the Pandemic period.
An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material (textural) and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields of color, geometric shapes and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement and emotion.
Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone. His work continues today to evolve without predefined formulas: every work is born from the desire to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity."
