With its collection Le Chaos Organisé, Studio Delu celebrates humor, improbable inventions and the dynamic situations of comics and popular culture.

This creation pays tribute to Gaston Lagaffe and to his astonishing helmeted-top-spiked cup-and-ball, in the humorous universe of André Franquin.

Made from a real page of a Gaston Lagaffe album, this composition features a game discovered at Aunt Hortense’s. Gaston enthusiastically presents his find to his colleagues: a redesigned cup-and-ball, whose red ball must reach the tip of his helmet. A typically Gastonian idea, which quickly provokes falls, splashes and exasperated reactions in the offices.

The composition combines an authentic album page with an official collectible figurine representing Gaston, wearing his helmet and holding his red ball. The various elements are hand-assembled in a black Shadow Frame. The light matting highlights the page, while the relief figurine extends the printed scene, creating a dialogue between the comic book panels and the three-dimensional object.

Each Studio Delu creation is made individually. The choice of the page, the figurine, and their staging give each work its own character.

At the crossroads of comics, sculpture and contemporary art, this creation will appeal to Gaston Lagaffe fans, to enthusiasts of André Franquin’s universe, and to Comic Art collectors.
