Studio Delu. (1976) - Lucky Luke – Les rôles sont inversés

Studio Delu. (1976) – Collection: The Timeless – Lucky Luke – The roles are reversed

Shadow Frame 27 × 27 cm – Mixed media – Signed work

With its collection The Timeless, Studio Delu celebrates iconic characters from comic books and popular culture.

This creation pays tribute to Lucky Luke, the famous cowboy from Morris’ universe.

Made from a genuine page of a Lucky Luke album, this composition features a card game alongside the Dalton brothers. Between surprised looks, raised hands and a plot twist, the sequence plays with the codes of the western and the humor characteristic of the series. The final line, “The roles are reversed now…”, gives the work its title.

The composition combines an authentic album page with a collectible figurine representing Lucky Luke, revolvers in hand. His light-colored hat, red scarf and yellow shirt echo the character drawn in the panels.

The different elements are hand-assembled in a black Shadow Frame. The light-colored mat highlights the page, while the dimensional figurine extends the scene to the foreground, creating a dialogue between the comic and the three-dimensional object.

Each Studio Delu creation is made individually. The choice of the page, the figurine, and their staging give each work its own character.

At the boundary between comic book, sculpture and contemporary art, this creation will appeal to Lucky Luke fans, western enthusiasts, and Comic Art collectors.
