Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Pair of hexagonal Japanese porcelain vases with blue and white decor and polychrome details, each 24 cm high and 8 cm in diameter, total weight 525 g, marked with the four-character Japanese mark 山一謹製 (Yamaichi Kinsei) and dating to the 20th century, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Pair of hexagonal Japanese porcelain vases painted – blue and polychrome – marked – 20th century – H 24 cm
Description
Beautiful pair of Japanese porcelain vases, with a slender hexagonal shape, decorated with refined naturalistic and landscape motifs.
The two vases, identical in shape and size but with different and complementary decorations, feature scenes with bamboo, birds, trees and mountain landscapes, predominantly in blue tones on a white background, enriched by small polychrome details.
The blue decoration shows variations and brushstroke nuances consistent with manual workmanship, while some small colored details appear opaque compared to the glazed surface, plausibly applied with enamel.
Both bear on the base the same four-character Japanese mark, apparently readable as 山一謹製 (Yamaichi Kinsei); one of the vases also has a vertical signature/inscription painted in the decoration.
Japanese production of the 20th century, of traditional Oriental taste. The exact manufacture and dating are not certified
The pair is kept in excellent condition, intact, with no chips or known restorations, and has been in the family for over forty years.
