Year 2026
The Cropline series stems from a reflection on everyone's journey.
The destination point is symbolized by a landmark, while the lines that intertwine evoke detours, choices, obstacles and encounters that shape a life path.
No trajectory is perfectly straight. Some lines cross, loop back on themselves or move away before returning to their direction, much like our own experiences.
Each work bears the name of a real place, not to offer a faithful representation, but to convey a sensation, an energy or an emotion through an original graphical composition.
In Kanagawa, the lines converse with the famous Japanese wave. The geometric structure meets the movement of water, creating a balance between control and spontaneity, between destination and the unexpected.
- About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau is a self-taught painter born in Marseille in 1970. He now lives near Aix-en-Provence.
Through his various series, he explores diverse graphic universes where each project develops its own visual language.
With Cropline, he deliberately moves away from his street art creations to offer a more minimalist exploration, built around the notion of journey. The lines become a metaphor for the paths everyone takes, the decisions, the detours, and the encounters that shape a life.
His work blends geometric abstraction, bold colors and cultural references to create works with multiple levels of meaning: immediately accessible through their aesthetics, they also invite the viewer to project their own story.
Each canvas is handmade, unique.
