Early XXth Century bed linen with V.B. initials - Textile - 3 m - 2.2 m

This bed linen can be dated to the early 20th century. We acquired it from our accountant, whose grandparents originally owned it, and it is believed to date from around 1920.

The embroidered initials are beautifully executed, with the stems outlined twice and filled with fine pinhead embroidery. The design is enhanced by three large floral motifs, arranged with lattice embroidery and intricate filled embroidery work.

Complementing the overall design are two open-threadwork borders, which give the bed linen a distinctive and elegant finish.

Condition:
Please note that there is one tiny hole and a single loose thread within the open-threadwork border. Otherwise, the piece remains a wonderful example of early 20th-century embroidery and craftsmanship.
