Description from the seller

Paolo Contin
The Last Dance of the Cicadas
"A final dance before Summer drifts away. Intense colors, free marks, and sudden interweavings evoke the lightness and vitality of cicadas, in an explosion of energy that seems to hold back the last moments of the lovely season."

The painting will be shipped rolled inside a sturdy cardboard tube.
Speditions to countries outside the European Community are not accepted due to excessive costs.

PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal artistic path for more than twenty-five years, in constant evolution. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he brings to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and the balance of composition.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This has been followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presentations in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.

The artistic path of Paolo Contin is also documented by his inclusion in the Arte Mondadori catalog with corresponding quotations. Over the years his works have also appeared in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture.

He was also among the founding members of "Tostart", an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the period of the Pandemic.

An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields of color, geometric forms, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: each piece is born from the will to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
