Description from the seller
Original painting by Jahzeely Sinai (Jahzart), titled El Edén de Frutas, 2026. Acrylic, acrylic gouache and chalk spray on canvas.
A still life seen from directly above, filling the whole surface with no horizon and no empty ground. Pomegranates opened to show their seeds, blood oranges, grapefruit, figs and a woven basket of apples are arranged across a table covered in layered patterned cloth. Orange blossom and pale flowers run through the composition and link one area to the next.
The painting sets two languages against each other. The fruit is modelled with volume and wet highlights, while the cloth beneath is flat, graphic and built from stripes, dots, chevrons and checks in green, blue, pink and deep red. A continuous white contour line runs around the leaves, flowers and fruit, holding the forms apart in a field that would otherwise collapse into pure pattern.
Colour is pushed throughout: the reds of the pomegranate seeds, the greens of the foliage and the magenta and turquoise of the textiles are kept at full saturation, so the eye moves across the surface rather than settling in one place. The result is a work about abundance, closer to decorative painting and contemporary figuration than to traditional still life.
