I offer at auction a necklace of blue and black agates from Brazil - NEW
The agate stone maintains a very close historical, symbolic, and liturgical relationship with Christianity, directly linked to biblical texts of the Old Testament and to one of the most sacred relics in Christianity: the Holy Grail.
The most important physical link between agate and Christian faith is found at Valencia Cathedral, Spain. The upper cup of the Valencia Holy Grail, considered by tradition and archaeological studies as the vessel that Jesus Christ may have used at the Last Supper, is carved entirely from a single polished agate piece (specifically a banded chalcedony). Archaeologists date this Alexandrian–Eastern cup to the 2nd–1st centuries B.C.
The entire necklace has been professionally hand-knotted on every bead.
This necklace, being very long, can be worn in many different ways, all very flattering depending on the occasion.
