Description from the seller
Adelasia di Selvadambra
Adelasia was the heiress of an estate surrounded by forests and fields of aromatic herbs. After years of poor harvests, she studied the lands, reorganized the crops and restored prosperity to the families living on her lands. The great jewel on the headdress was made by the artisans of the village as a sign of gratitude; the green stones of the earring recall the color of the hills after rain. In the portrait she appears composed and authoritative: she does not flaunt her rank, but bears with pride the responsibility she has earned.
Oil on linen canvas portrait, made in 2026, height 40 cm width 30 cm
Created by an Italian artist, signed, in a unique edition, perfect condition
Provided with certificate of authenticity
This work belongs to the series Noble Ladies Imaginary, born from a personal study of the historical portrait, chiaroscuro and the representation of female characters that never existed. Each figure possesses an original identity and story, subsequently interpreted by hand through oil painting.
(The character and the story are works of fiction, conceived by me as part of the painting's narrative).
