A bit of history:
"Invented in Italy at the end of the 16th century, the Game of the Goose became one of Europe’s favorite entertainments. This chance-based game, where one follows a spiral path, has seen its imagery evolve over time, lending itself to multiple themes and interpretations. In this square, Gianpaolo Pagni imagines a new circuit inspired by a 19th-century variant, preserved in the Émile Hermès collection. Each cell arranged in an ellipse and according to a symmetrical composition hosts an unusual motif drawn with stamps created by the illustrator. How the Game of Goose becomes a Silk Game..."
