Gobbi 1845 chronograph wristwatch, Ref. 247, for men, with a 40 mm stainless steel case and stainless steel bracelet, automatic movement, offered as non‑functioning and needing a service, with notable signs of wear and a non‑repainted dial.
Description from the seller
I am selling an interesting vintage Gobbi 1842 Milano watch, Ref. 247, with a titanium case and bracelet and gold-colored details.
The watch features a chronograph configuration with calendar and moon phase indicator and is marked with the Gobbi 1842 signature on the dial.
On the case back there are the following inscriptions:
SWISS
TITAN
REF. 247
The watch is sold as non-working and in need of servicing.
Conditions and operation
I have performed a few simple checks:
* the chronograph starts when pressing the button;
* the chronograph stops when pressing the button again;
* the chronograph does not reset correctly;
* the hour and minute hands do not advance;
* the small seconds do not move;
* even after attempting manual winding from the crown, the watch does not restart.
Therefore the movement’s functioning is not guaranteed and the watch should be considered for servicing/repair.
Esthetic conditions
The watch shows normal signs of use compatible with its age, including:
* a scratch on the crystal;
* small marks and dents on the exterior of the crystal/bezel;
* signs of wear on the case and bracelet.
There is also damage at one of the bracelet-to-case fixing points, visible in the photographs.
The dial appears overall well preserved, with the characteristic Gobbi 1842 signature.
Important
The watch is sold as-is, non-working and in need of servicing, so I advise the buyer to consider the interventions of a specialized watchmaker as necessary.
I do not have documentation relating to previous servicing or interventions.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show the actual conditions of the item.
