Description from the seller
We bring to you a stunning ring set with a 1.5 ct natural Emerald from the famous mines of Mingora, Swat Valley, Pakistan. The quality of the Emerald is amazing with a velvety appearance, with gardening, le jardin. The stone was acquired by us directly from the mines in rough, and we formed the stone into this beautiful faceted stone.
A true gemstone for anyone wanting something classic.
This stone is 100% natural, treatment - lightly oiled with cedar wood oil, which is standard practice of oiling emeralds.
What sets us different from others is that we have documented ALL of the major Swat and Shangla Emerald mines in detail (and are writing a book on these deposits and many other gemstone mines in Pakistan), you can gain information about the specific mine this emerald is from by visiting - https://origingems.com/blogs/gem-trails-of-pakistan/swat-emeralds-exclusive-access or watch our expeditions to the Emerald Mines of Mingora at https://youtu.be/uUL6jN78jeI
Not many people know this but the people of Pakistan have always been pioneers and connoisseurs of Gemstones from the Indus Valley Civilizations to Gandharan to other rich civilizations. In fact the most important Mughal ruler who was seen as a great lover of Gemstones, Shah Jahan was born in Lahore, which is now in Pakistan. Royal Karhanas in these cities across these lands produced elaborate jewellery and manufactured stones into beautiful works of art. Many of our ancestors are from these same civilizations. An example of such rich gemstone treasures was the royal Lahore court from which many thousands of very important gemstones, from the Kohinoor diamond to historically significant spinel's, emeralds of great wealth was stored manufactured and then later taken by the British. Yet this history is almost forgotten and simply labelled "Indian", but this is our history. When you acquire this piece of jewellery you are becoming apart of that long history, you support the miner communities that rely on these stones for their source of food. Not only that but this piece is something that you can pass on to your children for them to cherish. This stone also has a good size to it and cut, the ring is left without black lacquer so the emerald speaks for itself, since silver is the most reflective metal it is very shiny.
The ring was made by our own family craftsmen that have been jewellers since 1875.
Engraved fully by hand inspired by the rich heritage and culture of our ancestors, the Mughals, Persian influence, nature and older civilisations of these rich lands.
In islam men are forbidden to wear gold, silver is highly important as it is seen as a metal that is not only pure but sunnah (worn by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)), Silver is a very important metal in our culture. That is why many rings with precious stones are set into silver for men, and is why we have set this natural emerald into silver.
Cut style - Emerald cut.
Treatment - lightly oiled.
Metal - Pure Sterling Silver 925.
Stone Origin - Mingora, Swat Valley, Pakistan.

Photographs have been taken using professional cameras, natural and led lighting, macro and normal lenses. The ring is new, may have some blemishes or some slight scratches from manufacturing process. The color may vary depending on your screen, it is difficult to show the true color of the emerald in real, and different lighting may affect how it appears, we have done our best to show it in its beauty, some images show the color more saturated, emeralds also have natural inclusions inside them that give character to the overall look. The emerald is a stunning stone.
