Description from the seller
Biography
Rob van Oosten (born 1963) began painting in his teenage years. Among other things by copying 'old masters', he discovered what oil painting could do. However, his career did not take the artist's path; he became a teacher. He also continued painting. For many years these were still lifes with flowers, vegetables and fruit, but he realized that he couldn't express his creativity sufficiently in this. That changed when he started adding sand to his work and using materials such as putty knives and steel brushes. His work became rougher and increasingly moved toward abstraction.
Rob finds his inspiration in life. That can be beautiful, but it also has many rough edges.
Works by Rob van Oosten have found their way into private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and Greece.
Recent sales exhibitions were at the 'Tree Museum' in Doorn and at 'Amerongen Castle'.
These 9 works are painted on acid-free, pH-neutral paper.
The works are framed, but can easily be removed from the frame.
