Gucci - Music box - Italy - 2021 - Carillon Gucci Garden

Rare decorative and musical object made for Gucci Garden, the Florentine space conceived during the creative direction of Alessandro Michele. The structure echoes the appearance of a small pavilion or architectural temple, entirely covered by a dense graphic repertoire in black and white, with floral motifs, animals and visual quotes typical of Gucci’s imagery from that era. Inside, a three-dimensional carousel with animal figures turns to the sound of the music box. The specimen preserves an unusually complete original set: a Gucci Garden pink box with the eye motif, original internal materials, and the original Gucci Garden shopping bag. The completeness of the set is an important element for the piece’s collectible value and for its desirability on the secondary market.
By operating the mechanism, the internal carousel spins while the music box plays the melody. The model is described in a market record with the melody of “Jeux interdits / Romance.” The mechanism is marked with a single letter “S,” not definitively attributed.
Gucci describes Gucci Garden as a creative space inaugurated in 2018 in the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence, conceived under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele and comprising a boutique, gallery and Gucci Osteria. It has since changed concept and name, making the object even more exclusive.
