Trio of blue glazed faience soliflore vases with a rich polychrome floral scene, handmade cloisonné enamel by the Longwy enamel factory in France, circa 1925–1935, height 17 cm, diameter 6.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Set of three glazed earthenware soliflores vases, made in 1930 by the famous historic Longwy Enamels factory (France).
Each piece features a silhouette and a rich polychrome floral decor.
The flowering branch motifs inspired by Persian and Oriental aesthetics are entirely hand-executed using the traditional cloisonné enamel technique, making intense shades of pink, yellow and green vibrate on an iconic turquoise blue background of the brand.
The fact of gathering three pieces strictly identical in motif and one vase differing by the absence of the collar lip, of the same era and same size, is a rare opportunity on the market, ideal to create a repetition effect or a desired visual symmetry in high-end decoration.
• Origin: France, Longwy Enamels Factory
• Period / Exact date: 1925 - 1935
• Technique: Cloisonné / outlined enamels on earthenware, hand-painted
• Stamps and marks under the base: L-U11 Official signature stamped with the factory mark “Longwy France”.
• Dimensions:
• Overall height: 17.5 cm
• Foot diameter and flared collar: 7.5 cm
• Condition: Very good overall used condition for pieces approaching a century old. The enamel has preserved all its brilliance, freshness and the intensity of its original colours. Small interior glaze flaw (see photos) with no exterior impact, no restoration on the pieces.
