An exceptional and very rare ensemble from the prestigious American Journal of Mathematics, founded in 1878 and published under the auspices of Johns Hopkins University Press (Baltimore, USA). It is the oldest mathematical journal still active in the Western Hemisphere. This collection covers a pivotal period in the history of modern mathematics (late 19th century and the very beginning of the 20th century). It comprises a continuous sequence of 13 years (1887 to 1899) as well as 3 key volumes from the early century (1900, 1903 and 1904), for a total of 16 volumes.
