Description from the seller

A characterful, hand-carved pilgrim figure of Saint James, the Apostle Santiago, in warm honey-colored wood. Barefoot, he climbs a rocky hill, with a broad hat adorned with a shell emblem, a flowing cloak, a book under his arm, a pouch at his hip, and a long walking staff with a calabash. His grooved, bearded face radiates calm determination, while the folds of his robe are carved with confident knife strokes. On the dark pedestal sits the incised name “SANT-YAGO.” An atmospheric reminder of the Camino de Santiago.
