Obsidian - Baroque Christ's Cross Necklace - Strength of the Soul and Divine Protection - 925 Silver - Necklace with pendant

Baroque Obsidian Necklace adorned with an imposing Crucifix.
Soul Strength and Divine Protection

This necklace features a baroque crucifix enhanced with acanthus scrolls and the titulus INRI, a powerful symbol of divine blessing, redemption, and spiritual steadfastness, mounted on black obsidian beads.

Heir to the great devotion crucifixes of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, this jewel embodies the central mystery of Christianity: the offering of oneself that transcends death to give universal grace. The Christ in bas-relief, arms open to welcome humanity, is haloed with a glory. At the crossing of the branches, stylized grape clusters recall the sacred vine, emblem of spiritual abundance and eternal life.

The ends of the cross unfold into acanthus scrolls and artistic fleurs-de-lis, giving the piece a solemnity worthy of church treasures. This chiseling work contrasts with the polished darkness of the obsidian beads, a volcanic stone revered for its ability to neutralize external turbulence and preserve the serenity of the inner sanctuary.

Carried close to oneself, this crucifix conveys to its bearer a deep peace and continuous heavenly guardianship. It constantly reminds of the primacy of light over shadows, strengthens the will in moments of doubt, and guides every step with dignity, fervor, and confidence.

The Body of Christ and the Celestial Halo: The Triumph of Redemption
Represented with serenity and majesty, the crucified Christ transcends earthly trial. The circular halo framing His head recalls that the Passion is an immediate spiritual victory, an opening to divine light. This motif serves as a reference point of moral strength and protection for the believer.

The Eucharistic Grapes and Acanthus Scrolls: The Eternal Vine
The vegetal ornaments at the heart of the cross echo the biblical symbolism of the vine (“I am the true vine”). Combined with the baroque acanthus leaves — symbols of immortality and resurrection — these carved details evoke the constant renewal of energies and spiritual fruitfulness.

The Titulus INRI: The Anchoring of Truth
Above the Savior’s head, the vertical cartouche bearing the letters INRI (Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum) asserts the kingship of spirit over material contingencies. In popular Christian tradition, this inscription acts as a blessing that consecrates space and repels malign influences.

The Black Obsidian: The Guardian of the Heart
Earth-born glass from the magma depths, black obsidian traditionally accompanies sacred objects for its austere purity. It is reputed to absorb the heaviness of the surrounding world and preserve inner peace, creating a discreet barrier that enhances the crucifix’s radiance.
