Markus Krug presents WSK-F-268, an original acrylic wall object in conceptual art, 2019, 69 cm high by 53 cm wide (3 kg), Germany, signed, sold with frame, by Direkt vom Künstler, based on the 2010 sculpture WSK-053 transformed into 120 pieces.
Description from the seller
In 2019 the original sculpture "WSK-053" from 2010 was cut into its 120 individual pieces and, following a pre-set grid, transformed into the offered wall object. The original material color black thus reemerged at the cut surfaces beneath the white painting.

Artist Statement
For more than 30 years, Markus Krug has been examining structural concepts within self-contained series that build on one another. Planning, clarity, execution: in various techniques, sculptures, objects, and installations emerge; they resemble each other and could be interconnected like a kind of matrix.
Markus Krug creates homogeneous, reduced works from a wide range of materials: paper, cardboard, Styrofoam, or polystyrene foam. Due to the manual working method, minimal differences arise, which are highlighted or camouflaged by the application of acrylic paint, mainly in black or white.
The viscosity, amount, and handling of the paint are repeatedly varied from piece to piece, while the reference to the origin always remains.
