Sviatlana Petushkova presents Floating in the Clouds, a 2026 cyanotype print hand signed, in an edition of 40 on Fabriano Unica semi-cotton paper, measuring 35 × 50 cm.
Description from the seller
Floating in the Clouds is an atmospheric cyanotype exploring the relationship between the human body, water, and the infinite space of the imagination.
A solitary female figure sits at the bow of a small boat, surrounded by reflections of clouds shimmering across the water. The boundary between sky and river seems to dissolve, transforming the landscape into a dreamlike, almost surreal environment. Suspended between stillness and movement, the figure appears to float not only on the water, but somewhere between reality and a dream.
The deep Prussian blue tones, rich photographic textures, and delicate contrasts are characteristic of the historic cyanotype process. The monochromatic palette lends the image a timeless quality, while the unusual perspective draws the viewer into an intimate, contemplative moment. The work evokes a sense of freedom, solitude, and reconnection with nature — a quiet escape from the ordinary world.
Created by contemporary artist Sviatlana Petushkova, this original cyanotype is printed on Fabriano Unica semi-cotton paper, whose subtle texture enhances the tactile and handmade character of the image. Each print bears the distinctive material presence of the cyanotype process, combining photographic imagery with the expressive qualities of traditional printmaking.
Presented in a generous 35 × 50 cm format, Floating in the Clouds is an evocative artwork for collectors of alternative photography, contemporary printmaking, and poetic, nature-inspired imagery.
