Solid bronze relief plaque of André Ernest Modeste Grétry featuring a relief portrait of Grétry and an image of the sheet music from the opera Lucile. On it the text: Où peut-on être mieux, which is an aria from the opera Lucile.

André Ernest Modeste Grétry (1741-1813) was a Liège-French composer who is mainly known for his numerous opéras comiques. In photo 3 you can see a photograph of him.
Grétry wrote 66 operas. Most of them, such as L'amant Jaloux (1779), Richard Coeur de Lion (1784), Zémire et Azor (1771) and Lucille (1770), are masterpieces and were very successful in their time.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be thoughtfully packed, sent by registered mail and insured (with a Track & Trace code so you can follow the shipment). Pick-up in Ridderkerk, South Holland, is also possible. I have delicious hand-ground coffee.
