1) TIME magazine of June 5, 1944 (special small-format 'Pony Edition' for American soldiers overseas)
2) The Reader's Digest of October 1940 (this magazine contains several interesting articles about the buildup of the American Army)
3) Separation Center Fort Dix, What Next? (issued to soldiers who left the Army)
4) Postcard sent to another soldier, from the American Army at the outset of WWII.
The remaining documents and photographs in this lot are related to the 69th Infantry Division. This American division was the first to make contact with the Russians at Torgau, thereby splitting Germany in two and writing world history. In one of the two photographs the division’s commanders can be seen, including division commander Emil F. Reinhardt in an M43 combat uniform! A rare shot indeed, as this general is normally depicted in full dress.
