Key (10) - Italy in the 18th/19th century

Wonderful set of 10 large antique keys, wrought iron and hand-forged between the late 1700s and the early 1800s, with oval- and heart-shaped ring handles, typical of the classic artisanal craftsmanship of blacksmiths of the era, a solid cylindrical shaft, characterized by a beautiful surface oxidation that gives them the typical patina of age. This type of period hardware was used to operate the large locking mechanisms of historic doors, gates, safes, or strongboxes. The keys are completely original and unrestored, the patina rust has not been removed but only stabilized with a product specifically for antique metals. The measurements of the keys vary from 18 cm (the largest) to 14 cm (the smallest).
