The Nouvelle bibliothèque des voyages anciens et modernes is a famous 19th-century literary and editorial work, mainly curated by Philogène-Auguste-Joseph Duponchel and published in Paris by the publisher P. Duménil between 1841 and 1844. It is complete in 12 octavo volumes, in the original editorial softcover binding somewhat worn. It includes 100 splendid steel-engraved plates (depicting scenes of peoples’ lives, costumes, ceremonies and battles) and 5 large fold-out geographical maps.
