Description from the seller

Splendid and refined rectangular ceramic plaque formed by casting, with a bas-relief depiction of the Virgin Mary at the top, a superb example of Turin's excellent craftsmanship from the Art Deco period.
The back clearly bears the factory mark of AMBA Torino (monogram inscribed in a diamond), a renowned Turin epigone that shared craftsmen, motifs, and techniques with the famous parent house Lenci.
The work stands out for the gentle features of the face captured in a posture of deep contemplation, and for the vibrant chromatic contrast of the glossy blue glaze of the veil, enriched by a halo with a golden shading. The workmanship under the glaze testifies to the high technical and artistic level of Piedmontese production in the first half of the twentieth century. A magnificent and intact piece for any collection.
