"This painting is an exploration of the dissolution of form and the uncontrollable energy of nature. My intention was not to create a photorealistic representation of a sailing boat, but to capture the visceral experience of sailing at its most extreme moment, where the physical structure fuses with the surroundings.
The work presents a classic sailing boat that seems to be disintegrating or transforming. I have used a heavy impasto technique and a spatula to build up and deconstruct the hull and sails. The earth tones, broken whites, and touches of rust applied with a rough texture evoke aged wood, salt, and the wear of time, suggesting that the boat is part of the landscape as much as the sea.
The environment is a vibrant and textured blue sky, full of gestural movement, colliding violently with a dark, deep sea at the bottom. This clash of colors and textures creates dramatic tension, where the boat is a focal point of light trapped in a maelstrom. It is a meditation on the fragility of human construction against the eternity of the ocean and the sky.
The loose, expressionist brushstroke invites the viewer to interpret the scene, turning the work into an emotional journey rather than a simple visual description. It is an ideal piece for a collector seeking art with a strong physical presence and a symbolic narrative about struggle and resilience."
