Monumentorum Ineditorum Fasciculi XII by Feller, a 1-volume collection published in Jena between 1714 and 1718 in Latin, German, and French, bound in parchment and containing 690 pages, with notes and plates, incomplete fascicle 10 and fascicle 12 lacking a title page.
Description from the seller
Very rare first edition of this collection of historical and literary texts in various languages, published in Jena between 1714 and 1718 by the German collector Joachim Friedrich Feller (1673–1726), historian, genealogist and librarian in Weimar. The work appeared in 12 quarterly fascicles and contains important archival documents, letters and manuscripts from modern and medieval times.
Feller drew directly from his own private archive and from the rich ducal libraries of Thuringia. The collection includes unpublished letters of great thinkers and scientists of the era (particularly Leibniz and Hiob Ludolf), rare documents on the history of Thuringia, Saxony and the German noble houses, and texts related to the history of the Protestant Reformation.
Joachim Friedrich Feller, Monumenta varia inedita variisque linguis conscripta..., Jena, Jo. Felicem Bielckium, 1714-1718.
PP.: (X), 644, (XXXVI). With 2 folded tables outside the text. INCOMPLETE: fascicle 10 was not bound from the outset, corresponding to pp. 535-582. Fascicle 12 does not have its own frontispiece unlike the others.
Copy with sheets in overall good/very good condition, with the usual signs of use and time and the customary browning typical of German paper of the period. Small tears, without losses, at the inner margins of the Tables.
Contemporary full parchment binding with manuscript title to the spine, very well preserved. White flyleaves.
