My goal with this piece was not only to represent a sailboat, but to encapsulate the visceral sensation of being at sea. I used acrylic for its versatility and fast drying time, which has allowed me to work with layers and textures that reflect light and the constant mutability of the surface of the water. The abstract shapes of the sail and sky invite the viewer to complete the scene with their own imagination, turning the work into a portal to the calm and the power of nature.
