Artist Statement:
"This work is not merely a seascape; it is a visceral immersion into color and emotion. Using high-viscosity acrylics and an aggressive impasto technique, I have sought to capture not just the image of a sailing boat, but the pure sensation of movement and freedom.
The painting is dominated by a bold juxtaposition of temperature. The sailboat, with its sails in golds and ochres, seems to consume and reflect the energy of a burning, unearthly sky, painted in vibrant magentas and purples. This sky is not literal, but a reflection of the mood of the voyage. The sea, in deep blues textured with touches of purple, anchors the composition, while the relief of the rocky coastline fuses with the atmosphere.
The extensive use of the palette knife creates a tactile, almost sculptural surface. Each stroke is a physical mark of the creative energy. I have sought a balance between the recognizable depiction of a grand classic sailboat and a lyrical abstraction that invites the viewer to lose themselves in the swirl of color.
It is a statement piece, designed to command attention in any space. The collector who acquires this work will not only own a painting but a fragment of encapsulated energy."
