Duality explores the coexistence of two dimensions within the same identity. The portrait presents a female figure visually divided between two distinct chromatic environments: the intense warmth of orange tones and the cool, electric presence of green. This opposition creates a tension between what is revealed and what remains hidden.
The gaze assumes a central role in the composition. Direct and intense, it establishes an immediate relationship with the observer, while the contrast between light, shadow, and color heightens the sense of transformation. The face ceases to be merely a portrait and becomes a territory where different states, emotions, and identities seem to coexist.
The presence of the dark element that partially envelops the face reinforces this idea of division, functioning simultaneously as a mask, a shadow, and an extension of the figure itself. The work thus questions the idea of a single, stable identity, suggesting that different versions of ourselves can exist simultaneously.
Duality is a visual reflection on contrast, identity, and transformation, exploring the boundary between two realities that, despite being opposite, belong to the same person.
