Even Donald Duck needs a little peace and quiet sometimes!
Far from his usual adventures and comic mishaps, Donald enjoys a rare moment of calm by the sea in this lovely original watercolour by Jordi Juan Pujol.
Standing on a quiet shoreline, with seagulls flying overhead and gentle waves rolling in, Donald seems lost in thought, simply enjoying the view. There's something especially appealing about seeing such a famously temperamental character in such a peaceful setting.
The delicate watercolour technique gives the scene its charm. Soft coastal colours, subtle washes and natural transitions of light create a fresh, airy atmosphere, with the warmth and character of a painting made entirely by hand.
▸ Original Watercolour on Paper – 42 x 30 cm (unframed)
Jordi Juan Pujol is a Spanish illustrator who has worked with international publishers including Penguin Random House, Shoebox Media, Caramel and McGraw Hill. His illustrations combine expressive characters with a thoughtful approach to colour and storytelling.
