Lot Description:
In this auction an extraordinary piece of Piedmontese enology history: a monumental bottle from a Quarto di Brenta (equal to exactly 12.5 liters) of Nebbiolo d'Alba from the 1979 vintage, produced by the historic Azienda Vinicola Roche in Alba (founded in 1971).
This lot represents an absolute rarity for two exceptional reasons:
1. Limited Edition: The bottle belongs to an exclusive production, officially labeled as "Serie numerata per collezionisti n. 32" (Numbered series for collectors No. 32).
2. Superb Preservation State: The liquid level is outstandingly "Into Neck" (High Fill), an incredible and extremely rare condition for a wine over 45 years old. The capsule is perfectly intact, sealed, and shows no signs of historical leakage.
The bottle has been consistently stored in a private underground cellar, away from light, at a constant and controlled temperature and humidity. An elite piece for collectors of historic large formats and lovers of great Piedmontese red wines.
