Kloster Eberbach Steinberg Riesling Brut Monopol, 2021, 4 bottles of 0.75L, a Grosse Lage Riesling from Rheingau, Germany.
Description from the seller
Kloster Eberbach represents more than 850 years of winemaking tradition. The historic monastery's monks recognized early on that the climatic conditions of the Rheingau region were ideal for producing exceptional wines from locally grown grapes.
The Steinberg vineyard is historically closely intertwined with Kloster Eberbach. By 1239, the monks had acquired the entire vineyard through strategic land purchases. To protect their prized vineyard from grape thieves and wildlife, the monks built a wall up to five meters high and nearly three kilometers long. Completed in the 18th century, the wall has surrounded the vineyard ever since, much like the protective walls of a monastery. It remains the oldest "Monopole" vineyard in the world.
Our VDP.SEKT.PRESTIGE captivates with layered aromas of brioche, delicate yeast notes, and fine pastries. Extended maturation lends it structure and elegance, while vibrant, precise acidity and restrained dosage ensure freshness, balance, and finesse. Far from a fruit-driven Riesling sparkling wine, this is a powerful, sophisticated wine with remarkable complexity and a lingering saline-mineral finish – a true expression of its origin. Aged on the lees for 36 months.
Estate bottled and shipped by Kloster Eberbach. Excellent condition of bottle, label, cork and capsule.
