Description from the seller
Silent Agony
There is a form of pain that leaves no visible traces, yet changes the way we inhabit our bodies.
In Silent Agony, the hands contort in a gesture heavy with tension, as if something from within were desperately seeking a way out. The figure seems suspended between the need to free itself and the impossibility of voicing what it feels.
It is not merely an image of suffering. It is a portrait of an inner condition that many know: emotional exhaustion, the weight of thoughts, the moment when continuing to restrain what one feels becomes almost unbearable.
The hands assume the role of an invisible face. In their twisting, what words fail to contain is manifested, transforming a private sensation into a physical, concrete presence that cannot be ignored.
The sculpture invites recognition of that fragile and authentic part we often hide to keep appearing strong in the eyes of others. It offers no answers nor seeks consolation: it gives shape to a human experience that rarely dares to show itself.
In Serena Grassetti’s exploration, matter becomes the place where the invisible takes form and emotion turns into language.
Because sometimes what we cannot say is precisely what represents us most deeply.
Material: resin and marble powder
Edition LIMITED to 50 pieces.

SERENA GRASSETTI — CONTEMPORARY ARTIST
Serena Grassetti is an Italian contemporary artist whose research probes the complexity of the human being, exploring identity, memory, fragility, and inner transformation through a personal and multidisciplinary artistic language.
A daughter of art, trained at the Istituto d’Arte in Macerata, she has developed over the years a deep knowledge of the material and its expressive possibilities, experimenting with painting, sculpture, modeling, resins, charcoal, and techniques related to Natural Art. This experience forms the foundation of a practice in which the material is not a mere support but an integral part of the work’s meaning.
At the center of her research stands the body understood as a psychological and symbolic space: a presence capable of manifesting what words cannot express. Through incomplete figures, gestures laden with tension, and forms that oscillate between presence and dissolution, Grassetti gives visual substance to the deeper states of human experience.
Her work engages in the international dialogue of sculpture and contemporary figurative art, thematically related to the research of Rabarama, Berlinde De Bruyckere, and Xiang Jing, while the comparison with Andy Warhol, Banksy, and KAWS opens a reflection on the different ways in which contemporary art interprets identity and the human condition.
With works shown in exhibition contexts in Italy and abroad, Serena Grassetti pursues a research aimed at moving beyond superficial representation to reach a more intimate and universal dimension. Her poetics are founded on a fundamental principle: to give form to what is not seen, yet profoundly determines what we are.
