Sagrasse (1966) - Balance

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life roots in artisanal craft. For forty years he worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the Marche hills, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspend of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
