Sagrasse (1966) - ESCAPE FUCK WAR - small

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal mastery. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small town among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chrome plating.

The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he has always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an exemplary technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as an artisan into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.

In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Notably, presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition “Arte Venezia” in 2025, collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned private collection Fuser. From artisan to signature of the Neo-Pop scene, Sagrasse shows how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.

Sagrasse is not merely an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from its functional constraint, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.

Sagrasse’s work sits perfectly in the tradition of New Pop Art and Urban Art. If the comparison to Banksy is evident due to the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret everyday icons or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants on the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.

The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handcrafted work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural hallmark of completely manual workmanship.
