Kloster Eberbach Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck 2023, a Riesling from the Rheingau (Germany), is a 4-bottle lot (0.75 L each) classified as Grosses Gewächs and estate bottled by Kloster Eberbach, with a James Suckling score of 95/100.
Description from the seller
Kloster Eberbach represents more than 850 years of winemaking tradition. The historic monastery's monks recognized early on that the climatic conditions of the Rheingau region were ideal for producing exceptional wines from locally grown grapes.
The vineyards of the Rüdesheimer Berg trace their origins to historic estates belonging to the Electorate of Mainz, some dating back to the 12th century. First documented in 1200 as “offe dem berge,” the Roseneck vineyard was later named after the wild rose bushes growing on its rocky outcrops.
A warm, fruit-forward character with a delicate hint of young rose petals. Aromas of golden apple, fresh honeydew melon, and juicy nectarine lend the wine charm and an enticing richness. Subtle notes of almond blossom in the background add a touch of floral elegance. Abundant fruit, beautifully balanced – a wine that is both smooth and inviting, yet wonderfully vibrant.
Fermentation was partially spontaneous, with ageing taking place equally in wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks – a combination that brings together natural complexity and vibrant freshness.
95 P. - James Suckling
Estate bottled and shipped by Kloster Eberbach. Excellent condition of bottle, label, cork and capsule.
