Description from the seller
Two magnificent miniature porcelain ewers in cobalt blue and gold, handcrafted decorative certificate from the Camille Tharaud factory (1878-1956), one of the great names in Limoges porcelain in the 20th century, in excellent condition.
Camille Tharaud is world-renowned for its research into overglaze enamels and for the rich, deep decorations applied to porcelain. These two ewers sit perfectly within the tradition of high-end decorative objects produced by his manufactory.
The inking stamp comprises several overlapping elements:
• The cursive signature "Tharaud": a typical workshop mark, recognizable by the bar on the "T" that underlines the entire name.
• The inscription "LIMOGES FRANCE": which guarantees the protected designation of origin and local manufacture.
• A green stamp: Often placed above or below by the decorator or to indicate a specific series related to the glazing or hand-painted decoration.
