Stillleben, an oil on canvas by W. Marzel, created in 1942 in France, in good condition and sold with a solid wooden frame.
Description from the seller
Beautiful, richly detailed still life with noble objects and fruits (oil on canvas) painted in France 1942
A masterfully executed classical still life, distinguished by its atmospheric composition and fine handling of light. Set against a deep, dark background, an opulent arrangement of artistic objects and fresh fruit unfolds.
In the foreground, on a noble tablecloth with a rich pattern (in the style of an Oriental rug), a saucer with freshly cut fruits rests, flanked by a delicate glass. In the center, a tower-like, bronze-colored splendor with round decorations draws all eyes. To the right, a generously filled bowl with a bright yellow pear, red apples and plums, framed by a heavy white-draped cloth and delicate blossoms.
Bottom right of the painting is signed (read as W. Marzel). The work is in very good, age-appropriate condition and is set in a massive, profiled wooden frame.
Details about the work:
- Artist: W. Marzel
- Medium: Oil painting on loosely woven canvas
- Dimensions (with frame): approx. 38.5 x 46.5 cm (canvas size)
- Condition: Well-preserved original painting in a suitable wooden frame
- Back: Original pinewood stretcher with handwritten measurements
A wonderful collectible for lovers of classical still life painting, which lends an elegant and classical atmosphere to any room.
