Description from the seller
Magnificent and imposing original hand-made painting signed B. Casimir. The work belongs to the famous tradition of Haitian folk art, renowned worldwide for its bright, vivid colors and for dynamic, crowded compositions that celebrate markets, daily life, and the tropical fruits of Caribbean culture (inspired by the celebrated Laurent Casimir school and artistic circle, 1928–1990).
Dimensions: extraordinary size: 150 x 100 cm (a large format, rare and with a strong visual impact for interior decoration, lofts or large spaces).
Technique and support: Original hand-painted on rough, heavy raw canvas (a typical structure of Haitian painting, rough and highly tactile to the touch).
Conditions: The work is in good overall preservation for its type. Noted are slight signs of wear and imperfections circumscribed to the corners/outer edges (easily coverable or appreciable with the application of a frame or professional mounting).
