Gien Brouwer (1944 - 2023) - Overvliegende eenden

Gien Brouwer was born on March 23, 1944 in Waddinxveen. He graduated from the art academy in Rotterdam and subsequently trained in painting under the guidance of Hermanus Jozef Wijngaard.

Brouwer primarily chooses Dutch landscapes, executed in oil on canvas. His technique combines realism with impressionism; as a result, the viewer is immediately brought to the Dutch countryside and can almost feel and smell the damp, fresh Dutch air, and perceive the soft pastel tones of nature. His works take us to rural scenes with cottages and church towers in the distance
