Splendid and authentic golf driver (also known as Play Club) from the prestigious American manufacturer MacGregor, dating back to the golden era of clubs with wooden shafts (circa 1905-1915).
This collectible piece features construction characteristics of excellence typical of the early 1900s:
• Socket Head Head: Made from premium persimmon wood, it bears on the back the original autograph signature "MacGregor" inscribed in cursive.
• Era details: On the back of the head is the original lead insert for weight balancing. The sole shows the classic vintage protective strip in hard fiber/horn fixed with the original metal pegs.
• Shaft and Grip: The shaft is made of hickory, straight and solid. It preserves the splendid original wrap-style leather grip from the era, with its whipping binding intact at the base. An exceptional piece for collectors of historic golf or as a refined vintage decorative item.
